Fantasia

(Rg-glassCreations)
these are a few of my "fantasia" pieces...way over the top, extravagant, whimsical fantasies. I make the sculptural florals with the specific piece in mind, but it has a way of taking over during the assembly! each one is truely one of a kind, I couldn't duplicate it even if I wanted to!
I'd love to here what you think!

TRIBAL DANCE * Featured Page *

TRIBAL DANCE

(SusmithaSubbaraju)
Woke up last morning, rolled out of bed and immediately I had the itch to play with wire. I started out with this necklace and I couldn't stop myself until it was completely finished. Had 'breakfast' at 1pm LOL

Twisting, Wrapping, Hammering... I had a LOT of fun creating this necklace.

Length of necklace around the neck : 15 1/2 inches (including clasp)
Length of the focal piece: 3 1/2 inches

(The necklace size can be increased upto 16/12 inches at no extra charge)

The focal and the two wrapped beads are made of polymer clay. I had created those a while back and was waiting for that perfect jewelry design to strike me. Yesterday it did :)

I have accented the focal with a few lapis chips just to add that extra dash of deep blue.

The copper wire and beads are beautifully tarnished, giving the piece an antique finish.

Available for sale right now in my etsy store:

This was done for my Project Panda baby adoption fund. The adoption will take place in Chengdu China in Feb of 2008

Elephant Tracks

(Thejadedog)
I epoxied the embroidered piece to a large shell. The embroidered flower is made with sponge coral and glass and metal Japanese seed beads. The neck strap is made with Thai silver, African trade beads, wood beads, and seed beads from Japan.
cube/kuutio necklace * Featured Page *

cube/kuutio necklace

(YellowplumBeads)
These two designs are based on cube shapes beaded with size 11/0 Japanese glass seed beads.

The "cube necklace" contrasts a single color of seed beads with a single color of Czech firepolished glass beads. Bali sterling silver beadcaps, sterling silver chain, and a sterling silver infinity trigger clasp complete the design, which is partially strung on parachute cord. Length: 17"/43.2 cm

The "kuutio necklace" ("kuutio" = "cube" in Finnish) contrasts different colors/shades of Japanese glass seed beads with one another. Sterling silver links, sterling silver chain, and a sterling silver infinity trigger clasp round this one out as well. Length: 17"/43.2 cm

Holiday Magic * Featured Page *

Holiday Magic

(MamaDivineDesigns)
This stunning choker length necklace features the incredible sculpted lampwork glass rose beads of Carolyn Conley. The roses are a deep rich red resting upon olive green leaves. The necklace is accented with red Czech glass roundels, sterling silver daisy spacers and Swarovski crystals. The balance of the necklace is composed of Turkish sterling silver bead caps encasing a triple strand of olive green seed beads. The necklace is finished off with a sterling silver lobster clasp and measures just under 16" in length.

Euro-weave Necklace w/ Larimar * Featured Page *

Euro-weave Necklace w/ Larimar

(LoneRockJewelry)
The basic European weave is a sheet weave that lies flat. It normally bunches up in weird places if you try to curve it. I just learned how to make it curve - it takes various sizes of jump rings & MANY hours, but the finished piece is just gorgeous! Only a certain pendant would do, so I searched around and found this beautifully made Larimar piece. I wanted a distinctive, eye-catching way to show off the pendant, so I made a couple of segments of Jens Pind chain to lock it into place. The necklace is 16.25" long, & closes with a four-strand interlocking type clasp. About 5 troy ounces of sterling went into this necklace, not including the pendant, but the flat chain distributes the weight so well it wears like a dream.
Tribute to Spring * Featured Page *

Tribute to Spring

(DeliaStone)
Awaken quiet earth ... let the birds and the insects become your voice once again and sing me the song of spring.

With the arrival of spring comes the most amazing Metamorphosis of all. Seeds buried in the earth, wrapped in a cacoon of rich soil, metamorph into the colorful flowers and green foliage that herald the return of the growing season. This necklace is my tribute to spring. Firm, cold wire is transformed into a delicate flower with coiling trendils. White pearls are symbolic of the blank slate, from which springs everything. Beautiful green peridot seemed the perfect stone to symbolize the new green foliage. Mother Nature wakens the sleeping earth and delivers the promise of spring to all of her wanting creatures.

Navigation Necklace * Featured Page *

Navigation Necklace

(AdobeSolDesigns)
This one is part of my Navigation Series.

"May you always find your way down the magnificent path of life!"

Completely handmade... every single component!
The focal piece is a stamped and forged compass which dangles below the various links. I have added forged and stamped detail to the S-Links, one of which serves as the clasp-closure. The small discs are stamped with directions (SE SW NE NW).

Tale of a Seahorse * Featured Page *

Tale of a Seahorse

(DeliaStone)
I am passionate about mosaics! This is my favorite mosaic works to date. Created with all cold connections. First I shaped and wired together the frame in the shape of my seahorse, then I stitched hundreds of tiny two and three milimeter sterling and blue apatite beads onto the frame using countless feet of hair thin wire. Great detail was given to the eye, which is a tiny faceted blue apatite wrapped in a herringbone cage. The coiled chain is meant to give the impression of waves in the ocean. Gemmy blue apatites add a splash of color between links.
I adored this piece ... but he now has a home in New Zeland.
