Dragonflies and Dreams

There always seems to be something magical about dragonflies--they're full of mystery and grace. Bead artist Anne Choi designed the quote bead I've used for this necklace. The sterling silver chain and wire was all oxidized by me, so that it would compliment the finish on the bead and I've embellished the pendant with faceted teardrop tourmaline for a touch of color. 26+inches of pure joy!

When I purchased these incredible lampwork glass beads (created by Gillian Soskin), I knew that whatever I created would have to be just as incredible. Well, I think I have created just such a piece. The necklace culminates at Bali sterling silver cone shaped bead caps encasing 5 strands of cobalt blue seed beads interspersed with sterling silver seamless beads.Finishing off the piece is a single strand of cobalt seed beads and sterling silver S clasp. Take me to the Tropics...

Things are heating up here, or at least that's what I'm hoping for. In the meantime I'll use these tropical colors in a charm bracelet that is sure to radiate some warmth and style. Meet Me in Cancun, features lampwork shells by Tiffany McCoy and lampwork from several other artists that I drew from my stash box. I've loaded this bracelet with freshwater pearls, faceted carnelians and turquoise as well and it screams summertime.

Earth on Gold

I continue my designs with you earth girls in mind... because every lover of the earth needs to be surrounded and reminded of the beauty our mother earth has to offer! So wear this to the office - to a city park - or a shopping spree downtown - but - take a little piece of the earth with you where ever you go! Pepper Tree Creek

Ah well, it's been awhile since I included one of my childhood tales of inspiration that turned into beaded beauties! Pepper Tree Creek portrays the colors of the creek I passed through on my way to school! The long branches of the pepper trees would often fall to reach the ground and enclose the entire trunk like an umbrella, so you'd have to walk through the branches of the "umbrella" of the tree to get to the other side of the creek! And peering through on a brisk spring day when the earth, trees and leaves were still dewy wet - you could see every color in this bracelet - a lively thrill of mossy green, woodsey browns and a trickle of blue when the stream still flowed lightly - the last remnants of winter blooming into spring! I LOVE the organic style of these lampwork beads combined with natural components in this bracelet that portrays beauty in the raw and mimics the color of life!Lampwork by Catherine Ondrey. The Past

The pendant was created using Fossilized Peanut Wood, Walrus Ivory, and Sterling Silver. I fabricated sterling bands to hold the fossilized walrus ivory and then created a bezel setting for the peanut wood. I love to glow in the walrus ivory. (this ivory is over 1000 years old and is collected in Alaska by local tribes in their ancient hunting grounds.) The peanut wood cab was cut by Eagle Lapidary.

Limerick Bracelet

I just realized that I already used the name "Limerick" for a necklace. Must be the color that reminds me of an Irish countryside. The color also compliments my red hair nicely! Created May 2008.

Hollyhocks Necklace

I achieve the whitest white background in these handmade beads by using enamel, (powdered glass). The bead was dipped several times before adding the floral design. The flowers were left slightly raised and I love the effect. Very elegant. The pendant is strung on a double strand of tiny key lime and hot pink seed beads. Created May 2008 for Seagrass Gallery on Camano Island.

~Serene Seas~

The lampwork glass beads that I used in these earrings are from my personal collection and were created by Adriana Sauceda, a very talented lampwork glass artist. All of the findings are sterling silver. I've added genuine Swarovski crystals in peridot ab and light sapphire ab. In the mix of crystals I have also added fresh lime green freshwater pearls. I love these! These beautiful earrings measure 2 1/2" including the lever-back ear wires. Enjoy!

~Majestic Memories~

It's just beneath the surface. It flows like no other and when you are exposed to this element of water those 'feelings' or 'memories' come flooding back. It's a 'remembering'. It's a 'knowing' of where you are and where you have come from. Many will recognize this now... In this gorgeous necklace there are many elements! The focal is abalone shell and it's a beauty. Along each side are three dangles consisting of lapis lazuli and faceted peridot beads. Through the necklace are aqua apatite rondelles, spring green freshwater pearls, and more lapis lazuli. All of the findings are sterling silver and there is a lot of it in this creation! The necklace measures 16 3/4" at it's shortest but may be worn up to 20 1/4" at it's longest or anywhere in between. Enjoy! ~Apatite: Helps to increase intellect, brings truth in manifesting things in life toward being free, works well with other crystals so results are culminated, good for chakra clearing. A great stone for developing psychic abilities. Wonderful for creativity. ~Lapis Lazuli: Helps to connect the physical with the celestial. Increases awareness incredibly! Provides relief of emotional baggage. Great for organization. Helps those with depression and enhances self-acceptance. Also a protective stone. ~Pearls: Can stimulate purity in body and mind. Great for fertility. ~Peridot: This is a friendly stone. It will help to cleanse the heart and solar plexus areas. It opens one up to be able to receive love and accept relationships. It can assist in retrieving lost material items as well it will help with the search within oneself.
