This was a long time in the making, not as much in the actual construction (although that took hours) as figuring out which way to go with it - try this, try that, put it away, try again, & this is what I finally ended up with. This necklace has a flowing, fluid, one-piece design with a hand wrapped pendant. All stones are Number 8 turquoise - beautiful light blue with some brown matrix, these are rare and collectible stones from the Number 8 mine in Nevada. The mine is no longer in production, it ran out in 1961.
I made the chain by weaving it one ring at a time into the 4-1 Half-Persian chain maille pattern. This weave has a natural twist that can be used to create the highly cool look you can see here. These twists are permanent because the entire chain is closed - you put it on by slipping it over your head, with the single segment of stones centered on the back of your neck. The twists are fluid, but will stay as they are, although they can "slide" a little and may have to be adj

Perlina Handmade: I do love this necklace. It is simple elegance [although not that simple if you linked each and every link one by one!] but it looks fabulous. Turquoise beads and silver are such a cool combination.
