This brand new bracelet is actually very similar to one I sold awhile back. The lampwork beads, in key lime, sky blue, and pale aqua, are the same. I've used aquamarine gemstones as dangles just like the original except the gemstones are a different shape this time. What's different is this exceptional handmade sterling silver "Man In The Moon" toggle clasp and charm dangle which I think looks fabulous! What a fun piece to wear. I love it! Created March 2010.

I love the simplicity of black with white dots. And when you pair that up with a nice cherry, (or cheery), red, which happens to be my favorite color, well that makes a really great start for this fun and funky cone pendant that I've strung on a 3mm black rubber cord. Small red hearts rim the glass cone bead. The handmade lampwork glass cone bead that I've used for the pendant is hollow. Sterling silver chain links fall from within the cone and to these I've wire wrapped lots and lots of tiny, black, Czech glass heart dangles. Makes for lots of movement and interest. The cone bead falls from a large sterling silver necklace bail with a stylized scroll design. Created February 2010.

I don't do organic bead designs very often. I seem to prefer controlled line designs, dots and flowers, but when I saw this incredible sterling "Man in the Moon" artisan toggle clasp I decided to try a Michael Barley technique that I found in Corina Tettinger's book "Passing the Flame". I think you'll agree, the beads look fantastic with the clasp. The crystal clear encased button shaped beads have a cosmic, night sky feel and amazing, striations of color due to the addition of fine silver leaf which causes some really cool reactions between the colors chosen. Violet, pink, emerald, purple and russet. Created February 2010.

The colors used for this bracelet have turned out to be an all time customer favorite. Warm, deep amber, the color of burnt sugar and frosty, arctic blue are sure to become a Hippkitty favorite. Squeezed tab beads with line designs and flowers in arctic blue, and textural, etched, rounds are combined to create a stunning bracelet design. A small heart dangle and sterling toggle clasp with a hammered finish. I think it's one of my favorites! Created February 2010.

A stunning handmade bracelet featuring a sophisticated collection of my own glass lampwork beads in shades of aqua, lime green, and black. Nearly all glass, (not much metal used), there are actually two focal points to this lovely bracelet, the encased floral, front and center, and also the shanked and encased floral bead that makes up the bracelet's button closure. Small seed beads form the closure's loop making the bracelet extra easy to wear. Each of the flowers in the focal beads have a murrini center for added interest and large holed disc beads, at quarter intervals, slide over silver lined seed beads creating just a bit of movement. Created January 2010.

Rather than make up an entire necklace as of late I've just been selling pendants. Lots of pendants. I've sort of gone wild as you can see! Everyone seems to love dangles so I've added them to all the pendants in this series. Pendants are great for creating movement in a piece and in some cases sound. Dangles falling from the cone pendants create a soft clatter when shaken. Created May 2009.

The best selling single bead in my Etsy store lately has been the triangle bead with lots of different colored dots. I can understand why they are so popular. I love them too so I thought I would elaborate and make an entire bracelet featuring this really fun and colorful bead. Of course I had to add lots and lots of tiny dangles too. Who doesn't love dangles? Created Oct. 2009.

A stunning collection of handmade beads with a dreamy color palette of watery blues, aqua, and periwinkle, with lime and emerald green. Featuring an amazing focal in a cylinder shape with encapsulated, transparent, teal blue bubbles that seem to float within the center of clear glass. Not to mention all the other interesting shapes to gaze at and the striped dangle has it's own dangle, a tiny sterling silver, high-heeled shoe. Created October 2009.

"Bokomo Commotion" is a brand new, specially "engineered" necklace I created this week. I say engineered because it took awhle to figure out the design strategy. A tad bit tricky but I think it turned out fantastic! This is a OOAK, (one-of-a-kind), piece that has recently sold. The glass lampwork cone pendant, turned upside-down from the way I usually design, is wired from the inside, to chain links that fall from an unusual glass pendant bail. This unique, hot orange bail, has a glass loop attached to hold all the beads that form the riotously colored dangles. Bits of sky blue silk cord, strung with colorful seed beads, are tied to the chain links also, here and there, and really add to the sense of fun. The heavier gauge sterling wire that holds the cone pendant and the small orange bottom bead together is hand forged and formed into a lovely little spiral at the end. The pendant hangs from chunky 4mm rolo chain. The necklace has a spring ring closure, is 17 inches in length with 2 inch extender. The drop length of the pendant is 3-7/8 inches. This piece was so much fun to create and I hope it brightens your day a bit.

In celebration of El Dia de los Muertos or All Souls' Day I've created a OOAK, (one-of-a-kind), glass lampwork sugar scull pendant on a sterling silver bead strand chain. The pendant has a unique glass bail with a loop from which the other beads hang. The very colorful and whimsical sugar scull bead has a twisted pink and salmon headband with a periwinkle flower and she is wearing turquoise earrings, of course. The pendant is strung on a 24" chain and comes signed with my own sterling silver Hippkitty Beads tag.

"Concitric" is a handmade glass lampwork bracelet featuring large button shaped beads in riotously colorful abstract designs. Sky blue, turquoise, lemon yellow, tomato red, hot orange and various shades of green, combine to create this fun and oh-so-bold bracelet. The 20mm lampwork button beads are separated by small, sterling saucer shaped spacers and Thai silver bar beads. The closure is a sterling toggle with a simple chain design. The bracelet is signed with my own sterling silver "Hippkitty Beads" tag.

This stunning bracelet features simple handmade glass beads with a stacked dot design, dyed, natural coral discs and a delicious color palette of majenta pink, salmon, and juicy orange. Dangles of Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls, and Czech glass beads adds to the fun and creates a little excitement. Finished off with a large sterling silver toggle clasp with a cut out dot design and a lampwork and crystal dangle. Created November 2009.

The "Pretty Petals" necklace features a gorgeous and serene handmade glass button pendant. The lampwork focal bead is an encased lavender button shape with dots of sky blue and lovely petals of transparent grass green, tipped with lavender, along the perimeter of each side. An encased dotted round bead of the same transparent lavender shade dangles from beneath the focal button, creating a show stopping necklace design. Created November 2009.

The "Button Up" Choker necklace features a large, shank style button focal piece. The 28mm focal, (12mm thick), has a pea green base, encased in crystal clear, and dotted in white. A multi-color cane of twisted glass encircles the outer rim upon which turquoise petals are added. Tiny dots of persimmon sit atop each petal. The button focal is strung on a single strand of tiny, dyed turquoise gemstone beads, in a choker length. (16"with a 2" extender). Created November 2009.

The local artist's guild that I belong to will be having their annual Art Show soon and I've created some very colorful and whimsical pieces that I hope will not only catch the judges eye but also be enjoyed by some the local art appreciators. I'm all about color and hearts and flowers, of course. All the pieces are hand wire-wrapped in sterling silver with silver components. The necklace has a handmade chain of wire-wrapped Czech glass beads in matte black. Created May 2009.

I really like to use different shaped seed beads for my necklaces because I'm able to match the colors of my handmade focal beads almost exactly. I have a very large stash of seed beads in lots of different colors, shapes, and sizes, so it's pretty easy to just whip up a necklace at a moments notice. A very good customer bought this gorgeous handmade bead and asked me to make a necklace for her. I love the way it turned out. She did too! Created March 2009.

I'm trying out new uses for my handmade glass cone beads. I've used them here with multi strands of matte black seed beads and a large figure 8 clasp. It was a little tricky figuring out how to wire everything together but I love the simplicity of it. Just a casual, wear with jeans, everyday look. Created April 2009.

This is actually my first fumed beads of any kind. Fuming is a process of holding a bead in the fumes of melting metal, in this case fine silver wire. The base color of the cone bead and the tiny dangle beads is dark ivory. The fuming turned the ivory color a yummy carmel color. It also changed the other two colors, coral, and turquoise, a bit darker and richer. I love how it turned out and I'm definitely going to use this process again. Created March 2009.

Just added to my Etsy store. The first necklace "Highjinx" is a stunning handmade glass lampwork cone pendant with teardrop dangle wired to a lovely sterling bail with a heart theme and strung on a multi-strand of turquoise gemstone beads. This is possibly my favorite necklace ever. I love the colors and shapes in the pendant. The second necklace is an adorable black heart focal bead, (also handmade glass), wired to a dotted sterling bail and strung on a double strand of black matte Chech glass beads. Both necklaces are adjustable and created in March of 2009.

I haven't made a watercolor floral in such a long time. I had forgotten how much I love experimenting with all the handmixed canes of glass. I think of them as my paintbrushes. A person's first impression is that the floral design is painted but it's all glass. Created March 2009.

I've used one of my handmade cube beads to create this gorgeous and very unique multi-strand necklace. Fine silver is combined with lampwork glass to create the organic swirling design within the focal bead. A heavy layer of crystal clear glass is formed into this amazing cube shape. Tiny raised dots of clear are added along each edge of the cube creating a sparkly gem-like effect. The bead was then made into a pendant, adding dangles of mizuki cubes, Swarovski crystals, and freshwater pearls. The focal bead and dangles hang from an ornate sterling bail with a filigree design and this whole focal centerpiece is then strung on thin strands of Greek leather. Lobster claw clasp. Created March 2009.

I almost never use neutral colors but I made this bead a few years ago and I really liked it but it broke in half. I took a silversmithing class and learned how to bezel set cabochons so I used the broken bead instead and it worked rather well. The piece was my first try so it's rather imperfect but I love how it looks in this bracelet. The little heart dangle is leopard jasper. Created June 2008.

I achieve the whitest white background in these handmade beads by using enamel, (powdered glass). The bead was dipped several times before adding the floral design. I made a set of beads a few days ago for Ebay and I loved them so much I decided to continue the theme and make some jewelry. I've started with a bracelet and I'll be making some earrings too. A classic color combination in black, ruby pink, and antique ivory. There is a reaction between the ruby colored glass and the ivory causing a deliniating black line around the floral design. Some of the beads are encased in a thick layer of crystal clear. I love this interesting effect. Created May 2007.

It's always a good idea to have some black and white in your repetoire, (hope I spelled that right!). Funky, fun, shapes in just black and white makes you really focus on the design. Created June 2007

This is a necklace I created for a custom order. A large heart in lime green that's outlined with a coral and orchid twisted cane. Just a bit of black is added. Tiny lampwork dangles in colors taken from the heart. A really unusual pear shaped clasp fastens in the front of this sterling chain and Greek leather necklace. Created June 2007

A stunning focal bead with sterling bail strung on Greek leather. Simple yet elegant. I have created a few of these "roses under glass" type focal beads and I really love them! The thick clear encasing magnifies and emphasizing the floral design. Black ends and twisted black and white cane outline the clear encasement. This new design will be added to my inventory for "Art By The Bay" July 21-22,2007. Camano Island, WA.

This set of beads reminds me of a tablecloth from the 1940's. You know those kind with the splashy floral design. The color combination once popular back then is right in style today. Crimson, turquoise, and lime green on an antique ivory base. Dangles of freshwater pearls, red coral, chunks of turquoise gemstone and lots of sterling silver. The clasp, (from Hip Chick Beads), says "Be True". Check out the adorable wedgie sandal charm. Created for "Art By The Bay" 2007.

This is the kind of bracelet that you can wear everyday and leave on all the time. It's strung on waxed cotton and it stands up to lots of abuse. Created Nov. 2006
