Big Sur

  « She's Still Selling Seashells...

(Glass Jewelry)

Big Sur Something in these beautiful raku lampwork beads by Dawn Scannell inspired me to think of the wild and turbulent seas crashing along the coast of Big Sur. It's one of our family's favorite activities to take off along the coast hiway from Ventura up to Big Sur and on into the village of Carmel for a weekend retreat.

For this bracelet I've combined the lampwork with beautiful forged sterling links that have been heavily oxidized to compliment the raku and add to the sophistication.

My current love is working with artisan designed lampwork beads, because they are individual, intricate and ever evolving. When you design a piece of jewelry with lampwork it is an original, one of a kind labor of love. Working in this media is a wonderful outlet for my creativity and there is so much to learn that I will be busy for a good while!
