I have a gallery of older seashell designs, so this will be my 2008 edition...and she is still selling seashell. I think they are my favorite shape of beads to work with...any color and shape shell---conch, clam, starfish, or sand dollar...with a crab or an octopus...with a fishy or a pearl...you get my drift! I'll be adding lots of them in the coming days, of that you can be sure!

I love this bracelet with it's huge lampwork sand dollar by Judy Carlson, aquamarine and faceted turquoise teardrops all bound together with heavily oxidized sterling silver.

One of our favorite places to wiggle our toes in the sand summer evenings is Paradise Cove..this puts the same kind of smile on my face.

Cool colors that remind me of the water and the sand and an evening strolling with my sweetheart along our favorite little sandy cove.

Something in these beautiful raku lampwork beads by Dawn Scannell inspired me to think of the wild and turbulent seas crashing along the coast of Big Sur. It's one of our family's favorite activities to take off along the coast hiway from Ventura up to Big Sur and on into the village of Carmel for a weekend retreat.
For this bracelet I've combined the lampwork with beautiful forged sterling links that have been heavily oxidized to compliment the raku and add to the sophistication.

Here is the prequel to Big Sur--a dark and dramatic raku set by Dawn Scannell bound together with artisan forged and hammered sterling links, oxidized to a rich patina. I love this style bracelet and Dawn's elegant lampwork is the perfect start.

My current love is working with artisan designed lampwork beads, because they are individual, intricate and ever evolving. When you design a piece of jewelry with lampwork it is an original, one of a kind labor of love. Working in this media is a wonderful outlet for my creativity and there is so much to learn that I will be busy for a good while!
A special thanks goes to the wonderful lampwork artisans who inspire my mind and capture my fancy.
