Euro-weave Necklace w/ Larimar

  « Lone Rock Jewelry's Gallery

(Silver Jewelry)

Euro-weave Necklace w/ Larimar The basic European weave is a sheet weave that lies flat. It normally bunches up in weird places if you try to curve it. I just learned how to make it curve - it takes various sizes of jump rings & MANY hours, but the finished piece is just gorgeous! Only a certain pendant would do, so I searched around and found this beautifully made Larimar piece. I wanted a distinctive, eye-catching way to show off the pendant, so I made a couple of segments of Jens Pind chain to lock it into place. The necklace is 16.25" long, & closes with a four-strand interlocking type clasp. About 5 troy ounces of sterling went into this necklace, not including the pendant, but the flat chain distributes the weight so well it wears like a dream.
