Learning is a process, perfecting the technique can be a challenge. Putting my own spin to the design is why I love to create. I love to work with glass, it's just like playing with a box of crayons, and sometimes I just can't get the glass color to stay within the lines. ~a little push now and then - make a pair of earrings!~ (maybe) So you see me here, showcasing my designs, hopefully for you to enjoy.

Inner contentment joy, love that is what just happened to me this past week after coming back from a long needed rest from the internet, the hustle and bustle of life as I know it now!
Could I stop creating? NO - I just couldn't! It's a left brain right brain artist fighting thing.
With a huge push from others I was inspired to design a bigger and bolder version of this new fad going around in leather wrapped bracelets.
"Made of natural materials using gemstones, leather, sterling silver along with a peace charm ~ yep you see it a lampwork handcrafted art bead!
IMO - I think they are just groovy! Enjoy!
PS: "So all of this may have helped me being in the window at Chelsea's my local bead store and just playing with beads!"

~why you say ~ hey ~ she told me she was sending me a little gift to cheer me up ~ ~ well when the postman came bearing a box ~ I had to sign for ~ of which I dropped, due to the nature of the return address label. ~ The artist ("Kim Neely") if it was not for her fantabulous packaging ~ these beauty's "OMG~" would of been ~ well ~ I shudder to think ~ Heck, I slept with the beads ~ then the light bulb went off in my head ~ Peacock Pearls ~ Bali ~ Eye Candy ~ Just 4 U ~ cause this bracelet is just 4 me!

Designing a piece of wearable art usually comes easy for me, the idea & inspiration comes from the bead itself for me ~ This one you see ~ I believe I ripped it apart several times the other day ~ took way too many pictures ~ and am still not truly pleased with the results ~ I shall just let it be for now ~ ( as you can see it has changed a bit ) Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

I found the Call 4 Entry contest for "Celebrating Beads" ~ Bead Society of Greater Washington. This piece you see was chosen for final jury, and as I read the email of notification; it dawned on me this was not the state West of me, it was the state East of me ~ The Capital of the United States of America ~ I attended the "Gala" what fun I had, what great people I met ~ what a honor to be picked. This piece was not one of the winner's, but I sure was. I will continue to push, to shove my limits so that my journey will continue on!
Lampwork Focal Beads & Photography credit go to Lydia Muell ~ Thank you Lydia for helping me make this happen ~

I just thought it was a lumpy glob of yellow, until someone told me how much of a dufus I was when it came to the identity of gemstones. I swear I could not for the life of me fine the hole in the stone. "ugh" So ~ I am learning more and more each day. I designed the entire necklace around this rock called Citrine; this gemstone for November.

Did you ever win a set of beads go straight to your design table and start creating? I was so excited to get these beads - they remind me of the desert - I lived in the desert of Arizona for 7 years - a suburban by nature - my apartment was full of all these bugs - ick ~
I gingerly snatched on up and to it to the local pest control guy - I thought they were cockroaches - nope - brown crickets - the manager shrugged and just said ~ "More Transplants from the East!"
- Since Anne Ricketts made the awesome beads ~ the name was a perfect match ~

The distribution of components displayed in this design could easily have been, could, would of been sucked up in the vacuum cleaner. The entanglement between the seed beads and that fishing line stuff, it drove me crazy. Alas, as I continued to edit this design never giving up dragging along day by day, month by month - it's done!
A challenging piece combining, seed beads, Vermicelli gold chain with Citrine dangles, Gemstone Citrine rondells along with two tone turquoise Czech glass daggers *that I can not for the life of me find anymore*!
The Hand Forged Copper bead cap gifted to me by Adobe Sol Designs is somewhere hidden beneath the boro lampwork bead that was also free-beaded to me about 7 years ago when I first started buying lampwork beads.
This piece shall not sell as it is the first one I made all free-form with no instruction; except for the comment from Nivedita "cut and run"! Silly woman!
I am proud of myself.

Horace sat at my bedside for almost a year. He kept me company as I slept with no fear. On the evening of my birthday this year I thought to myself hey ~ I didn't get a present from anybody for my birthday this year (yea how sad is that)?
Horace poked me and there I was on EbAy - to my surprise, (well not really) her beads seem to be on top all the time. (see below)
It was an impulse click and bid go back to bed kinda of thang - in the morning awaiting me in my mailbox was an invoice to pay!
Horace I thank you for poking me, Nicole Valentine I thank you for creating Horace!
Kim Neely you make kick butt beads!
So with ease and self loathing I introduce ~

It's like doing a dance for me when I create a bracelet with different twist. I have full control of my jewelry inventory. Although there are times when I need that tiny little bead, that perfect element to finish off the design. The self composed, scratch that - call me preoccupied until I find it. Stay out of my way until I find that bead! Did I tell you Serena made these beads!

She went to the gym; she wore it working out ~ it survived! My heart went thud! I told her not to wear it doing dishes ~ This custom designed bracelet has four strands consisting of lampwork glass beads designed by Betty Furry, gemstones, solid 14k gold findings, Bali sterling silver, fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystals & pearls & a vintage glass button clicker clasp ~ I just kept adding more and more ~ and forgot to take a final picture ~ Oh well such is life, and life is good no matter which way you see it from the front side or the backside ~ it's still just a bracelet ~ Just one bracelet not four ~

She has done it again, Elasia Gifts! (insert applause) Perfect rounds Lampwork beads with great shape, form execution, and color!
Making Lampwork glass beads is not a glamorous job, it is a job that requires tons of torch time, it's becomes a rewarding job when a designer shows your what she did with her beads ~ so when you design that beautiful piece ~ take the time and send a picture to that glass bead maker ~ tell her how great she is!
I'll say it once, I'll say it twice, I'll say it again ~ great beads make great bracelets, which makes my job so much easier!

I design by feel & instinct~ normal guidelines in magazines and or books for our medium I just cannot follow. My inspiration comes from my soul; the instinct I have to realize what really looks right in design through my own eyes.
Creativity not only heals me, it really makes me happy.

I love oyster's ~ raw oyster's, lemon juice, horseradish sauce, slurp, down the hatch ~ but when you happen to eat that nasty gritty one, somebody didn't rinse it good enough so your eating the sand ~ I am sure glad it isn't a glass rod.
Oh, I am so off track here, these are Czech Pearls, with ornate Bali sterling silver, and raku handcrafted rounds.
Sorry, it's dinner ~ was getting hungry..

I follow the Sun wherever it may be and as the seasons change as it shifts its position so does my tripod and or my body position. On the car, hanging outside the window, rolling in the grass or getting down and dirty on the concrete - I have to get that picture! I dropped my new camera and it broke; it was 5 months old. I had to get a new one ~ needless to say I am loving my new camera! Peace Out ~

Oysters ~ that's how I like them raw, cold and a sqeeze of lemon juice ~
Focal Lampwork Beads designed by Nicole Byers.
I was wearing a bracelet that I had made with a friends first set of beads the other day, then I remembered the set of lampwork I purchased from Nicole when I first met her; as I was craving oysters as a snack.
Alas, it was late, no resturant was open so I feed my need with this set of beads!
~ Lampwork, (3) strands of Freshwather Pearls, Bali Sterling Silver, surprise ~ no Swarovski crystals ~

Peter Parker is a fictional character conceived by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. This character an orphan being raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben as an ordinary teenager, having to deal with the normal struggles of youth. ~ "self-obsessions with rejection, inadequacy, and loneliness" etc.. But, then one day he got bit by a spider. **shudder** I don't like spider's! ~ They are creepy but a necessary evil.
Now comes Spiderman, I prefer calling him "Spidey". Now "Spidey did not benefit from his mentors, he had to discover for himself "With great powers comes resposibility". "Spidey had the ability to cling to walls, shoot spider-webs and react quickly with his so called "spider-sense" this enabled him to combat his many foes, including "The Sandman". ~
"Spidey" your friendly neighborhood hero and one of the fifth greatest fictional character's per Empire Magazine. ~ use your "spidey sense" make good choices in life with whatever you do!
On a side note ~ maybe "Spidey" isn't a fictional character, the pewter figurine was given to me as a gift by my son for Christmas one year ~
IMO - he had a reason to give this present to me way back when he was just ten.
It's a necklace you see made of natural gemstone rocks, sterling silver. NO LAMPWORK! Thanks for stopping by.

Hibiscus Cocktail Go figure,it took me 2 weeks to finish this necklace, something just wasn't clicking the frustration was mounting. June 4, 2009 - staring me in the face while shopping at Bead & Button was this hibiscus flower on a table. A Barb Svetlik OOAK up close an personal. OMG I had to have it as it matched the leaves designed by Lisa Kan that were already weaved in the necklace. That purple tone of color in the midst of this flower and bingo I had color pop! I also decided to slide down one of my 1/4" big hole beads.
Ask me how I did it? I don't know actually, but with out the help of my friends, Dawn Sklare, and Elasia Gifts - and Julie of Beaded-Elements (who started the first 3 turns) this would never have been finished - I thank them for this.

High School Geometry Glass was one of the most pointless forms of math ever devised. As it involves shapes, planes, and lots of proofs. It had no real use to me, although my teacher liked to say it did. It was torture for me - my teacher was cute - I played the game, I passed the class.
Lampwork Glass Beadmaker - ~ J. Savina designed these triangle beads a very long time ago - maybe I should call them vintage J. Savina ~ vintage like me ~ older wiser ~ and life is much more simple. I finally figured out the formula of the geometric shape designing this bracelet with "Triangle Beads" ~ I get it now ~ I thank you J. Savina ~ will you call my old teacher? Maybe he would change my grade if he saw this ~
Beautiful beads, make beautiful bracelets!
PS: a diamond has 8 triangular sides so ha ~ I did pass the class ~ but won't tell you what grade I got.

I used to be a picker ~ What is a picker ~ a junker ~ a dumpster diver ~ a pack rat ~ seriously ~ Antiquing, looking for that broken piece to incorporate into one of my designs, or finding a real gem.
